    Dispersive representation of the pion vector form factor in τ→ππντ\tau\to\pi\pi\nu_\tau decays

    We propose a dispersive representation of the charged pion vector form factor that is consistent with chiral symmetry and fulfills the constraints imposed by analyticity and unitarity. Unknown parameters are fitted to the very precise data on τ−→π−π0ντ\tau^-\to\pi^-\pi^0\nu_\tau decays obtained by Belle, leading to a good description of the corresponding spectral function up to a ππ\pi\pi squared invariant mass s≃1.5s\simeq 1.5 GeV2^2. We discuss the effect of isospin corrections, and obtain the values of low energy observables. For larger values of ss, this representation is complemented with a phenomenological description to allow its implementation in the new TAUOLA hadronic currents.Comment: 22 pages, 4 figures.     A multi-domain approach to asteroid families identification

    Previous works have identified families halos by an analysis in proper elements domains, or by using Sloan Digital Sky Survey-Moving Object Catalog data, fourth release (SDSS-MOC4) multi-band photometry to infer the asteroid taxonomy, or by a combination of the two methods. The limited number of asteroids for which geometric albedo was known until recently discouraged in the past the extensive use of this additional parameter, which is however of great importance in identifying an asteroid taxonomy. The new availability of geometric albedo data from the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) mission for about 100,000 asteroids significantly increased the sample of objects for which such information, with some errors, is now known. In this work we proposed a new method to identify families halos in a multi-domain space composed by proper elements, SDSS-MOC4 (a*,i-z) colors, and WISE geometric albedo for the whole main belt (and the Hungaria and Cybele orbital regions). Assuming that most families were created by the breakup of an undifferentiated parent body, they are expected to be homogeneous in colors and albedo. The new method is quite effective in determining objects belonging to a family halo, with low percentages of likely interlopers, and results that are quite consistent in term of taxonomy and geometric albedo of the halo members.Comment: 23 pages, 18 figures, 6 tables.     Candida albicans UBI3 and UBI4 promoter regions confer differential regulation of invertase production to Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells in response to stress

    Candida albicans ubiquitin genes UBI3 and UBI4 encode a ubiquitin-hybrid protein involved in ribosome biogenesis and polyubiquitin, respectively. In this work we show that UBI3 and UBI4 promoter regions confer differentialexpr ession consistent with the function of their encoded gene products. Hybrid genes were constructed containing the SUC2 coding region under the controlof UBI3 or UBI4 promoters in the yeast vector pLC7. Invertase production in Saccharomyces cerevisiae transformants was differentially regulated: the UBI4 promoter was induced by stress conditions (thermalupshift and/or starvation) whereas the UBI3 promoter conferred constitutive invertase production in growing yeast cells. These results indicate that the UBI4 promoter is regulated by stress-response signaling pathways, whereas the UBI3 promoter is controlled according to the requirement for protein synthesis to support cell growth

    In this paper we show a partial answer the a question of C. Huneke and G. Leuschke (2003): Let R be a standard graded Cohen-Macaulay ring of graded countable Cohen-Macaulay representation type, and assume that R has an isolated singularity. Is R then necessarily of graded finite Cohen-Macaulay representation type? In particular, this question has an affirmative answer for standard graded non-Gorenstein rings as well as for standard graded Gorenstein rings of minimal multiplicity. Along the way, we obtain a partial classification of graded Cohen-Macaulay rings of graded countable Cohen-Macaulay type.Comment: 15 Page

    Hadron structure in tau -> KKpi nu_tau decays

    We analyse the hadronization structure of both vector and axial-vector currents leading to tau -> KKpi nu_tau decays. At leading order in the 1/Nc expansion, and considering only the contribution of the lightest resonances, we work out, within the framework of the resonance chiral Lagrangian, the structure of the local vertices involved in those processes. The couplings in the resonance theory are constrained by imposing the asymptotic behaviour of vector and axial-vector spectral functions ruled by QCD. In this way we predict the hadron spectra and conclude that, contrarily to previous assertions, the vector contribution dominates by far over the axial-vector one in all KKpi charge channels.Comment: 32 pages, 7 figure
